A beautiful zoo with lots of animals who are well taken care of. One of the cleanest zoos that I have visited. Fun for all ages. There's a carousel and a train to ride as well as a restaurant to visit. Plenty of parking. Well worth the trip.

Buttonwood park & zoo is a great place to bring your kids for a small adventure. Been going here since I was a kid some things have definitely changed but it's still nice. My children love Buttonwood zoo especially on days that not many crowds of people. This place offers dedicated sensory-friendly hours and accommodations for those on the spectrum etc,. Available Accommodations & Resources are available for these individuals as well. Which makes this much easier for transitions etc,. The park can be a bit too much in my opinion so I just stick to the zoo unless I am alone then I will walk throw the back which features miles of walking and nature paths.

Went here for the first time and it was clearly school fieldtrip day; lots of kids. The entrance bathrooms were surrounded by school fieldtrip kids running around & kind of loud. Didn't order any food in there but looked decent. Some nice looking habitats for the animals. Saw lots of employee interactions while there including a seal birthday. Definitely worth the price we paid as it isn't an all day thing

Not many animals =[ no elephants out, some empty enclosures. It's more of a nice day at the park with the kids. It's something to do, but don't have high expectations of seeing much other than your average everyday animals. The only thing that stood out was the bears, little monkeys and some poisonous frogs that were cool looking. It is sad to see that most of the animals look miserable =[ we went twice on a Saturday, it wasn't busy at all.

Visited Buttonwood Park Zoo, to pass time before driving back home. There was tonnes of snow that took most of the car park allocated spaces. Thankfully we found one. The road that leads into the main carpark is narrow. Drivers - be aware, drive slowly as it’s a two way - exit and entrance road, though it doesn’t look. I was a little disappointed as there wasn’t much animals to see like elephants, lynxes, eagles etc - all these parts were out of order. Even the cafe wasn’t open. It’s definitely a great place for children, very family friendly and wheelchairs. They don’t have maps to handout, but you can take a photo of the sign once you’ve paid to enter from the gift store to enter. I liked the wall made out of recycle items, in shapes of sea creatures: jelly fish, seahorse, puff fish, turtle. We saw bears, otters sunbathing, red crowned cranes was my favourite bird here - they’re so elegant, red panda, bisons and coyote. They had an amphibian part - the fishes, jelly fish and seahorses were cool, very smelly - it was very hot in there, the monkeys were cute. It’s outdoors - so make sure you were comfortable footwear (uneven ground, muddy too) and waterproof clothing.
